  The staff is pretty friendly upfront, it's just their policies that are horrendous and unfair to citizens. These people are not really appraisers, they perform what is called mass appraisal which is unmoral and unfair to citizens. The "appraisers" here are not fully licensed, and they could not go appraise commercial or residential real estate for anyone EXCEPT the County. They overvalued my property and jacked up my taxes. The informal meeting is pointless, don't even bother. Then, the formal meeting 3 member board are made up of people who work in the Appraisal District Building ALL DAY for 4 months and "don't ever speak with the appraisal district".....sure, that's cute. They did not follow Texas Property Code rule 42.26 AT ALL, and to dispute it you have to go to court and spend thousands! So that's fair for a citizen to be overcharged taxes, prove with evidence they're overcharged taxes, and then after dealing with a board of incompetent NON-APPRAISERS who are in cohoots with the County, are left to spend more fighting the taxes than just paying the overcharged taxes! I FEEL LIKE I'M TAKING CRAZY PILLS!!!!!!! My property is not appraised equally and uniformly with my surrounding and adjoining properties. How is that fair?

  I see a lot of comments calling the BAD thieves. The real thieves here are not the appraisers, its the taxing districts. When you live in Bexar County, San Antonio and either the NISD or NEISD, you pay a full 1 percent more in tax rates than your friends in neighboring Comal County. They are the thieves, in particular the NISD and NEISD. And those are not politically run, well they are not supposed to be. Who you elect as your school board trustees are the CHIEF THIEVES in Bexar County. As for the property value appraisals they are not that much out of line. Its a game of chess between the appraised value and the tax rates and BAD does not set the tax rates, your elected officials at the City, County and School District levels do!!
